Good nutrition includes the basics of a well balanced diet including whole grains, cereals, vegetables, fresh fruits, liquids, lean protein and healthy fats. A lot is known about women and nutrition. The male nutrition and diet is a lesser explored area. Studies have been conducted for both men and women regarding the importance of nutrition. However, men tend to ignore by giving the excuse of lack of time, lot of stress and so forth.

A healthy diet with a balanced amount of vitamins, proteins, antioxidants, minerals like zinc, selenium and other essentials like folate, calcium release the energy needed to be active throughout a day's hard work. Be it men or women, a healthy and nutritious diet is essential for both genders to remain physically and mentally active.

There are several interesting studies revolving around the importance of male nutrition. It has been researched than an average man needs to consume around 11mg of zinc everyday to keep physically active. Likewise, men have more bone weight than women. Hence, it is essential to drink lots of milk, eat calcium rich foods everyday. This can be found in eggs, dairy products and poultry. Exposure to early morning sunlight can be the best source of calcium for bones and vitamin D for your body.

Men are more prone to stress and related health risks like hypertension, diabetes, sleep disorders, heart attack. Considering the importance of male nutrition, it would be a great idea to incorporate more antioxidants in your diet, like, berries, fresh fruits, melons, green leafy vegetables and lesser fats. Stress and high calorie foods are very harmful for your body. Control the cravings for the junk food and introduce more healthy snacks to your body.

Imagine your body like your home. A good foundation is the key to a strong home. The same goes for your body too. Motivate yourself to eat a more balanced diet, drink lot of water and fruit juices, make it compulsory to exercise a minimum 30 minutes everyday, expose yourself to more sunshine and fresh air. With the changed diet and a fitness regime, men can notice the weight loss, glowing skin, better metabolism and a more positive attitude in themselves.

There are no super healthy magical potions that can bring this change in a day. Healthy nutritious diet coupled with regular exercise and timely sleep can show the signs of change in a matter of few weeks. Several health problems are passed genetically. It is always a good idea to have regular health check ups and consult the physician before making a dietary change or joining a fitness class.

Finally, with the increasing environmental pollution, higher levels of stress and tight work schedules, importance of male nutrition should not be neglected. Be it men or women, a healthy mind and a healthy body is a key to good health and positive attitude. It is always a good idea to be watchful of what you eat and how you look.
