Last week, while perusing the cold cereal selection at a Hartford, Connecticut bodega, I happened to notice a few packages of Malt-O-Meal Berry Colossal Crunch cereal. It was the first time I had seen this variety of Malt-O-Meal cereal and I decided to buy a package of it almost immediately.
Through the years, I have eaten several varieties of Malt-O-Meal cereal and have been very satisfied with the flavor, price and overall quality of every variety I have tried. As it turns out, this delightful cereal carries on that tradition of excellence.

The regular retail price charged for one 12.50 ounce bag of Malt-O-Meal Berry Colossal Crunch cereal at Hartford, Connecticut area supermarkets is approximately $1.99. Larger bags, containing 20.50 ounces usually retail for approximately $2.99 - $3.19.
The regular retail price of similar, name brand cereals is always significantly higher, even though the items are almost identical.
Texture / Consistency
This delightful cold cereal features a pleasing crunchy texture that makes it an enjoyable item to snack on straight from the box. It also maintains its crunch for quite a while when submerged in milk.

Taste / Flavor
This tasty cereal is supposed to be an alternative to Cap'n Crunch CrunchBerries. Although I do sometimes eat regular style Cap'n Crunch cereal, I've never eaten the CrunchBerries variety.
The golden puffs in Malt-O-Meal Berry Colossal Crunch cereal definitely do remind me of Cap'n Crunch cereal, only not quite as sweet. Actually, I really like the flavor of this cold cereal. The multi colored 'berries' taste like strawberries to me and they balance well with the golden puffs.
It's hard to keep from snacking on this cereal dry, because it tastes so good. On a flavor scale of one through ten, I would assign this product a rating of nine.

Malt-O-Meal Berry Colossal Crunch cereal is packaged in a largely-yellow and red plastic bag that features a clear, plastic window through which you can view the cereal. The rear label lists all relevant ingredient and nutritional information.
The bag also features a zip like, resealable opening at the top, which provides for easy opening and effective re-closing of the bag.
Overall Rating
All things considered, Malt-O-Meal Berry Colossal Crunch cereal is a bargain -priced cold cereal that is sweet, but not too sweet. In this reviewers opinion, the flavor, appearance and texture of this item would probably satisfy adults and children alike. Available at food retailers across America, this product is recommended.
