Mama Earth Speaks on Earth Day

Stacey Doyle
Glorious meeting of land and sea

Yet why doesn't anyone seem to love me?

Digging deep to suck me dry

Trash on roadsides makes me cry.

Acid rain bringing earthly pain

Nowhere left to hide or drain.

Abandoned buildings rot and fall

How can I possibly handle it all?

Earth Day comes, everyone sings

But what about important things?

Everyday is time to love Mama Earth

Honor all life, remember my worth.

Plant a garden and go hug a tree

Clean up the garbage to save me.

Protect the gift of life or it's gone,

How will future generations go on?
