Man Arrested at U.S. Boarder Wearing Ankle Monitor to Support Lindsay Lohan

Border agents between Canada and Buffalo, New York are use to hearing every excuse imaginable when someone is flagged coming into the United States, but the excuse they got July 9th was one of the strangest yet.

Border agents said a man from New York, who was on probation in New York, tried to enter the United States from Canada wearing an ankle monitoring bracelet. Officials say Eugene Todie, 29, told them the bracelet was just a prop and he was wearing it in support of actress Lindsay Lohan.

Todie initially tried to enter the U.S. using someone else's passport, which prompted border agents to ask him for his ID. When agents were able to identify him they asked why how he came into possession of the ankle bracelet. Todie said a friend who is a probation officer gave him the ankle monitor bracelet as a prop so he could see what it felt like to wear a SCRAM bracelet like the one monitoring Lindsay Lohan and her alcohol intake.

Todie is currently on probation for criminal contempt and isn't supposed to leave his home in Buffalo, let alone leave the United States.

Todie was arrested for leaving the United States and appeared in Federal Court on Tuesday where he was arraigned on charges of misuse of a passport and lying to federal officials. He is required to appear before a Judge again July 20th.
