Police Say a Man Made Bomb Threat to Divert Them from Dollar Tree

A man has been arrested after phoning in a bomb threat to the Wells Fargo bank in Woodburn. He was hoping he was to divert police from his other crime.

In an amazing turn in events, police who where investigating the bomb threat found that, in a lucky burst of stupidity the man had used his own mobile phone to call in the threat.

Oregon Live News are reporting that police have arrested 24-year old Christopher Wayne Walker. After police who were responding to a robbery at the Dollar Tree store in Woodburn on Friday. Police had been notified of a robbery at the Dollar Tree after a store employee turned up to work in the morning. Where the employee found the door unlocked, and the safe open with $3000 missing.

During the investigation, police were led to the assistant manager of the Dollar Tree. Truley Ann Dixon, age 39, of Woodburn, who is friends with Christopher Wayne Walker.

Police approached the pair while they where out driving. When police made there move, Christopher Walker began to run away. But he was eventually captured around 20-minutes later.

It was during this time when he was running when Walker had made the call to the Woodburn branch of Wells Fargo Bank, to make the bomb threat.

Both Walker and Dixon had planned the robbery together, and had damaged a door to the Dollar Tree, as if to make it look like the door had been forced open to gain entry.

Police did recover $2800 of stolen money. It has not been disclosed as to when the pair will be charged together. Or if Walker will be charged on his own with making a bomb threat to the Wells Fargo.

Both Walker and Dixon have although been charged with burgalry, theft and being in possesion of a controled substance, namely drugs. It has not been stated yet as to what the drugs were.

Both are being held in police custody until they will appear in court.

Police had only been involved with a bomb threat at Wells Fargo in Woodburn just before Christmas. Were the FBI and police found a suspect package later proved to be harmless. Also to recap another bank in Woodburn on the same day was targeted, when a device exploded at The West Coast Bank, Killing two police officers and seriously injuring another. Joshua Abraham and his father where arrested and charged with aggravated murder for these offenses. along with a string of other charges.
