Man and His Destiny

"Destiny can never be changed"

"No condition is permanent".

Among most people these two disagreeing statements are heard when going is tough and rough. As seconds stretch into minutes, minutes into hours, hours into days and so on, the condition and state of man change from time to time on earth.

The means through which each person realizes the daily experience of life is often refer to as DESTINY. Ignorance of appropriate knowledge of the future combined with fatalism (i.e. belief that all that happens on earth to man as inevitable) often compels most people to say, "Destiny can never be changed".

Then, what is destiny? According to the Advance Learners' Dictionary of current English, destiny is the power believed to control events. It is also that which happens to somebody, thought of as determined in advance by fate. At the same time, some believed that destiny is the secret wisdom of God, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glories even before we were born. Mind you, destiny of a man is grouped into three kinds; Individual destiny, Supernatural destiny, and Death destiny.

Individual Destiny: is the action of man's WILL or that freedom of action granted to man by God to shape his life according to his own DESIRE. This destiny is otherwise called VOLITION. The power of using one's own WILL, of choosing and making a decision. The will of man to choose his career, partner, where to live, what to eat, how to dress and so on. Individual destiny is a mutable destiny since it is man's WILL and DESIRE. It is part of extensive freedom granted man by God to utilize or misuse. A young guy who channels hi strength into profitable venture and makes name for himself utilizes his free will while the one who channels his strength into all kinds of social vices and ends up in prison misuse it.

Through the wise ordering of creation man has been given power to shape conditions for himself. Individual destiny is the destiny that has to do with the saying, "Heaven helps those who help themselves". That is, destiny of a man in life can be shaped through his WILL and DESIRE aided by nature. If you desire to plant a tree and bury the seed in the ground, nature will help it to grow. If you desire to be rich and you work diligently and intelligently, factors around you will help you to be rich. In short, the individual destiny or will is control by us and we can mould it for any intention in life.

Supernatural Destiny: The supernatural is that which is believed to be spiritual, that cannot be fathomed by men or explained by physical laws. So, the supernatural aspect of man's destiny is spiritual, unfathomable, and phenomenal. The destiny is fixed and permanent. It is beyond the power of man. It is controlled by immutable forces of God. These immutable forces of God which control man's life are; your being born into a particular family, being in a particular race, being a male or female, and the greatest of the forces are our gifts, talents, and potentials God created with us which we can utilize to earn living and rise from obscurity to stardom.

The supernatural Destiny can further be explained as destiny of restriction and limitation. Is a kind of spiritual sphere, and is therefore impossible to operate beyond its limit. It is destiny that restricts; a man from being a woman, a white man from being a black man, someone who is not a member of royal family from being a king or a queen, a very good cardiologist from being a very good neurologist, a very good lawn tennis player from being a very good table tennis player. Bleaching of skin from black to white, plastic or cosmetic surgery of any kind and human cloning are all attempts of medical sciences to break the immutable laws of restriction of supernatural destiny. Remember, nature can never be cheated. Whatever imbalances we forcefully impose on nature it will certainly adjust to balance itself and the adjustment could lead either directly or indirectly to catastrophic end. No imitation of nature can be like original, the best it could be is second best!

Death Destiny: The one man shares with other creatures even with mosquito. In this aspect of destiny, man fate is like that of the animal, the same fate await both of us, as one dies, so dies the other. All of us have the same breath; man has no advantage over animal. Death is the same everywhere. The one that operates in Europe is not different from the one operating in Asia. The one that kills soldier in the battle field is the same as the one that killed ninety years old man on his bed. As queens and kings died so slaves and prisoners died.

Death is also an immutable destiny. Death must happen to every creature. No man has ever lived forever. There is time to be born and there is time to die. Do you know that, manifestation/occurrence of death can be delayed by physical, mental, and spiritual struggles. Why physical, mental and spiritual struggles? Because man is an embodiment of these three realms. Our muscles, bone and all biological systems are physical, our thinking, emotion and reasoning are mental while our soul is spiritual.

In fact, life, the opposite of death, is a mere suspension of the element of death in man. Man could delay his death physically by doing a regular medical checkup, taking regular physical exercise, rest regularly, eat balance diet and abstain from harmful substances like heroin. Mentally, avoid excessive thinking that could cause depression and affect your emotion and reasoning. Spiritually, since we have no power over our soul, we should move very close to that divine being-God who has the power to preserve and protect our soul.

Taking a right step in life has to do with WILL and DESIRE. We must understand ourselves and our gifts very well before setting our desire into motion. If not, out of obscured vision man may take a false step, stumble and fall and thus sink away when the path is right in front of him. Out of WILL man can develop his gift or leave it dormant. Why you are born white or black, male or female, have this gift or that, belong to this family or that, are mysteries that cannot be comprehended. Death is an inevitable end. A threshold of everlasting destiny-a destiny acquired after death destiny. Death-a gateway that leads man out of this world, is a destiny no desire and will can stop but can delay. Death is the one common with every creature.

Without limitation mankind would have gone astray through abuse of free will. For limitations when properly scrutinized are instrument which push us to goals. To us, limitation means hardship, but what is hardship other than what teaches us to become the masters of our own lives. We should all strive hard and utilize our WILL, DESIRE, GIFT, and TALENT to leave a good footprint on the sand of life. Each of us must be remembered for some good things when we "say bye bye" to the world.

No matter how enormous the wealth we gather and how famous we are by the virtue of our WILL, DESIRE, GIFT, and TALENT, one day willingly or unwillingly, we shall leave this world and embark on a journey of no return.
