Man in the Moon

There is a man in the moon who shines so bright

He finds his way to me with his brilliant light

Out of nowhere I feel his presence so strong

I close my eyes and feel his amazing song

So smooth the sound of how his laughter roared

Never a dull seat in the house, no one ever bored

As the sun rises, the man in the moon loses his light

And creates a realness of our loss of sight

For he has hidden back into our hearts to wait

Until the sun goes down at night so late

With each coming night the man in the moon is there to see

Watching over my mother, so many, and me

The fact that he is in the moon was unexpected for all

God took back one of his own, and left us here to continue to crawl

We live for the night

For that unfailing light

To hold onto the memories we created with love

And look forward to the opportunity to share them above

When you leave our hearts to return to the moon

Our eyes veer up because we know very soon

That right there you will be

Back in the moon....for us all to see.
