Man Proposed Just 4 Minutes After First Meeting

Card playing lovebirds, Welshman Carl dockings and American Danielle got engaged only four minutes after they first met face to face.

36-year-old Carl and 26-year-old Danielle first met playing gin at an online card room. After ten months of conversations Carl Dockings, a resident of Newport, Wales took a 4,000 mile flight to Chicago. Within minutes of getting off the plane Carl decided not to let this woman go and proposed to Danielle.

Just four short months after the proposal the Internet lovebirds tied the knot.

Carl Dockings spoke about the couple's first meeting online. "I'd always liked cards and was filling in the evening. I went on there and bumped into Danielle playing in a card game and we hit it off straight away. I was inundated with work and the computer was where I went to relax and wind down and that's where I found Danielle. We got on so well. We just seemed to know what the other was thinking."

Carl then went on to talk about Danielle as a person. He pointed out how Danielle's caring personality shown through immediately on talking with her.

After some time talking over the Internet Carl and Danielle realised they were in love. Yet the pair had not even sent each other pictures of themselves yet. However, even though they were in love both Carl and Danielle described sending that first picture. Carl said it was "nerve-wracking" and he also said, "We finally agreed to swap photos and Danielle sent one over first - after seeing the photo of her I was terrified of sending the photo of myself."

Danielle felt an immediate connection as well when she first starting talking to Carl online. During their months of conversation it was like they had always known each other. Danielle said, "It was good conversation - there was never any awkward silence. He was really funny and we seemed to click right away. I fell in love with his personality and the kind of person he was."

One way Danielle could tell Carl had a caring personality is that he would always mention spending time with his children. Carl has two children from a previous relationship.

After getting married Danielle moved to Wales and settled with Carl in his hometown. The couple have also had their first child, a girl they named Isabelle, who was born on New Year's Day.

When first hearing about Danielle, Carl's mother thought her son was being fool. However, when she finally got to see the couple together she knew it was an excellent match. She said that, "They're really happy" and she also said "They are still like a pair of love birds." "They still play footsie under the table when they are playing cards."
