Man United: Champions Again?

Third Time's a Charm for Six Alex

Red Devil
It was a glorious day for the Manchester United fans gathered in the Theater of Dreams as Sir Alex Ferguson's men handed out a beating to West Ham that should be seen in Mixed Martial Art's matches only. With the Barclay Premier League title chase nearly over United are just one win away from keeping the title at Old Trafford and the one remaining game standing between United and the title? Former Manchester United Captain Steve Bruce's Wigan Athletic. Wigan's form has been of a surviving tactic this season with their current form consisting of 1loss, 3 draws and 2 wins, winning their last game against Aston Villa 2-0.

Although United were down to 10 men before the end of the first half, The Hammers just could not seem to advance the game in their favor as Cristiano Ronaldo added Two more goals to his season's tally and just to add insult to injury - or send a message to Chelsea coach Avram Grant - it was former West Ham player Carlos Tevez who netted United's 3rd goal of the game on the 25th minute and although the game looked to be pretty much over, Tevez had decided to keep all celebrations to himself and remained reserved gaining applause from both United and West Ham fans.

United were in the lead within the first three minutes it was the sending off of Portuguese winger Nani for a head-butt on the Hammer's skipper Lucas Neill, even though footage shows Neill provoked him by sneakily pinching him. In the post match interview Sir Alex Ferguson was asked about Nani's sending off he said: "I don't think the referee had any option. The linesman gave it because Nani has retaliated. "He showed his immaturity but he will learn from it. So no complaints. We will deal with it."

In what appeared as a pitiful attempt at a come-back it was Dean Ashton's only goal in the 28th minute that showed United had changed gears and was now choosing to contain the game instead of completely annihilating the Hammers. On the 58th minute it was another former Hammers player, Michael Carrick, who slotted a notch beside his name to score the fourth and final goal of the game to bring the Champions only 3 points - one more win, away from retaining the league and keeping Sir Alex aiming for his 10th Barclay's Premier League crown. Manchester United play Wigan Athletic on May 11th at the JJB Stadium.
