If you have never heard of Bear Grylls, you may have heard of his survival show called " Man Vs. Wild". With a name like Bear...you know that this guy has to be tough. What you don't expect is to see a man who might just be the most amazing survival expert alive. Bear Grylls, by all rights, is worthy of the title, survivor man.

Man Vs. Wild is the best show on the Discovery Channel. The show is hosted by Bear Grylls, a man who has a long resume of survival training and expertise. This man is no stranger to pushing himself to the limits. He served in the British Army for three years as a Special Air Service Regiment. Bear Grylls is also the youngest person in the UK to summit Ama Dablam in the Himalayas at the age of twenty four. This very peak was nicknamed the "unclimbable" by Sir Edmund Hillary. In 1998, Bear Grylls became the youngest person alive to summit Mt. Everest a feat than many have gone before and failed to achieve. To this day he still holds the record as the youngest person to climb the summit. This young man has achieved more outstanding feats, gone on many wild adventures and pushed himself to the extremes than anyone alive at the young age of thirty three. In 2003 Bear led a team across the North Atlantic in a rigid inflatable boat also known as a RIB, across icy frigid waters. Bear set another world record and even had a book published about the exploration entitled, Facing the Frozen Ocean. For his tremendous achievement, he was awarded an honorary commission in the Royal Navy.

Bear Grylls is a survival expert, former foreign legion member, a black belt in Karate who is undoubtedly one of the sexiest men on the planet. What makes him so sexy is the fact that he is intelligent, handsome, and could save your life or show you how to survive in any survival scenario. Currently he has his own show on the Discovery Channel entitled "Man Vs. Wild". He takes around a camera crew and gets his kicks out of being dropped in some remote and probably desolate location and allows himself a week to find his way back to civilization while trying to survive. Usually his tools include a canteen, and a piece of flint stone. Bear makes his own fire, finds water sources, hunts and eats any animal he can find, and has even resorted to eating bugs, worms, snakes, and raw fish. The film crew, film his adventure but do not interact and there are times when Bear's life is very much in danger.

Man Vs. Wild has been filmed in such locations as the African Savanna-Kenya, a deserted island in the South Pacific, the Rocky Mountains, the European Alps, The Nevada Desert, the Costa Rican Jungles, and Mount Kilauea in Hawaii. The show is all about extreme locations for an extreme survivor. There have been many times when Bear's life has been in danger, and many unfortunate people have lost their lives in the survival scenario re-enactments on the show. Bear shows the average person how to survive if stranded in these remote locations, while finding his way back to civilization. One of the most extreme episodes was the episode in the South Pacific Ocean. Bear constructed his own raft and headed out to sea. When surrounded by Tiger Sharks, the reality quickly set in that his life was very much in danger. Man Vs. Wild is the best show on the Discovery Channel. Bear always finds his way back to civilization and proves that anyone can survive in those situations with the proper knowledge and practices. Bear has gone several days without food, but he always manages to find an edible food source. Although some of his food choices would turn most people's stomachs, you do what you have to do in order to survive.

Bear Grylls is one of the most amazing men on the planet. If you watch Man Vs. Wild on the Discovery Channel you will witness a man of true intelligence, beauty, strength, and survival skills. The guy is amazing. He can show you how to start a fire with simple tools such as a bow, string, and wood. Bear can teach you how to construct a proper shelter, and how to find food and remedies for sickness. I have even seen him teach a person how to escape quicksand. This is exactly why Man Vs. Wild is the best show on the Discovery Channel.
