Man Vs. Wild or Survivorman

The Match Up

If you haven't seen Man vs. Wild or Survivor man, you can catch them both on the Discovery Channel. Both of these shows can be summed up as two crazies out in the wilderness, trying to survive with minimal resources. Personally, I prefer Survivorman because he doesn't seem like so much of a p***y as Bear Grills (Man vs. Wild).

Les Stroud (Survivorman) gets dropped off in the middle of nowhere, usually with just a few items, his camera equipment, and a multitool. He is actually alone and has to film everything he does all by himself. There is no camera crew to keep him company at night. There isn't anyone to help him if he gets hurt or lost. Personally, I think he is a total nutcase, but I love his show. I'll watch the same episode over and over again.

Bear Grills (Man vs. Wild) gets dropped off with his camera crew and doesn't have to spend a single solitary night alone anywhere. Supposedly, he has to catch his own food, find his own shelter, and not communicate with the rest of the crew. I hope the discovery channel really doesn't expect me to believe that this guy sits for God knows how long in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by people and doesn't speak a word.

If we put both of these guys in the wild and asked them to stay for 7 days, I think Bear would be done after the first day or two. Les seems like he would actually survive. I agree that one week might be difficult depending on the situation, but what I would really like to see is these guys being dropped off in the middle of nowhere for 30 days.

If anyone has any connections at the Discovery Channel, please send this suggestion to them. Lets see more Survivorman and less Man vs. Wild.
