Man Vs. Wild's Top 10

If you have ever seen the show Man Vs. Wild on Discovery Channel, you know how amazing the host is to survive all of the crazy destinations he's gone. I watch this show religiously and I have listed a few of my favorite. Here they are.

First, in Africa. Landing in Africa from jumping out of a helicopter and landing in raging waters, this was only the beginning and the first of many trials. Getting violently ill with diarrhea. Weather this was the flu or due to something he ate, it was bad. Almost getting attacked and bit by a snake wasn't enough. He ate a bug larvae as big as his hand. At the end of the travel, he had to climb a mountain and wait on top of it while the helicopter picked him up. The views from the top of this mountain were exquisite.

When he landed in Ireland, he swam through a cave to get to shore. Cleaning out a dead sheep to use the hide as a sleeping bag was a mistake. He awoke the next morning covered in ticks. Removing all of the ticks himself by hand was a hard task and time consuming. Using the sheep's hide as a floating device, he swam in a freezing lake down shore. Once upon shore, he used his socks as a strainer for maggot soup.

Romania was the by far the easiest. He made an ax from ice to assist him down the mud covered slopes. Eating crickets was as bad as this episode got.

Louisiana on the other hand was more interesting. He jumped on an alligators back and wrestled him till he died. Using the alligator hide as a floating device, he used it to get across the raging river. While doing this, a cat fish bit his arm. Towards the end of the episode, he took off his boots and socks and because her feet were so wet for a period of time, he had sore cracked and infected feet. This did according to the web sight at www.discoverychannel.com he did need to have medical attention after the taping.

Mexico was nothing like I've seen before. He had to crawl over these huge boulders. Sleeping with snakes and not knowing how he was going to get down impossible cliffs wasn't as bad as what would happen later. A rattlesnake went to attack him and with dirt in his eyes, he had a hard time seeing it clearly. In the end, he did kill the snake. Using the snake skin as a filter, he urinated in it. This filtered his urine and he was able to drink it. This prevented him from dehydrating. Seeing a honey bee swarm, he reached inside the tree for the honey and got more than just the honey. He was swarmed by the bees and had hundreds of stings on his face causing his face to swell to an enormous size.

He got stuck in the jungle in Panama. It was raining the whole episode. Meeting up with the Embera tribe seemed to be a god sent. They took him hunting and he shot a lizard. Eating raw swamp crab made him ill towards the end of the episode.

Patagonia was the best entrance. He para glided down a mountain side. Building a raft that would hold was tougher than it should have been. Going across a frozen lake, his home made raft fell apart.

In Indonesia, I was proud of his spear job. He speared a sting ray. The same fish that killed Steve Irwin. Pulling a viper from a tree, he was almost bitten. Walking in black swamps, he saw the crocodiles and the corpses of the people who were effected by the tsunami. Trying to go down a water fall using a vine, it snapped and he fell over 50 feet to the water below.

Finding ancient relics in Turkey was amazing. He cooked crabs on ancient stone stoves. Finding the Christian Caves, which no one has been in for over hundreds of years, is a documented historic moment. Exhausted by the traveling, he slept in a rock tomb.

Siberia was the violent and coldest of all. Jumping from a helicopter and landing in freezing water, the lens on the camera iced over. Recording the temperature of -38 degrees, he was lucky to have survived this trip. He killed a yak, and used the hide as a raft. Joining the Tuvan tribe, they took him hunting.
