This week, a 90-year-old man from Wichita, Kan. hit $473,095 on a Wheel of Fortune Machine at Native Lights Casino located in Newkirk, Oklahoma.
I had the pleasure of sitting next to this man and even loaned him my phone.
The lucky man, Elvin Keith, told me that this is the biggest win he has ever had.
Before hitting the big bucks, Keith said he had been playing the machine I was on, a 5-cent Diamond machine with a maximum bet of 45 cents. Keith said he had put about $300 in the diamond machine before moving to the Wheel of Fortune machine and he was glad he did.
While waiting for his winnings, he played the diamond machine again after I moved to the next machine and promptly won the $50 that I had just put it in it. He said "I'll take it."
In a press release issued by the casino, Keith said he had won $500 on the same Wheel of Fortune machine a week ago so he tried it again.
After placing $66 in the machine, Keith hit the progressive prize. "Fantastic," was his response.
Keith immediately called his son who jumped in a car and headed down to the casino.
Casino workers roped off the Wheel of Fortune machines and contacted the National Indian Gaming Commission.
Keith had to wait for a representative of the commission to arrive from Tulsa before he could collect his winnings.
Meanwhile we played a few machines side by side and casino workers blessed him with coupons for free food and brought him drinks.
Keith suggested machines for me to play, but my losing ways continued.
Keith's MegaJackpot is the second to be paid at Native Lights Casino.
On Sept. 16, 2009, a gambler won $1.1 million on a Wheel of Fortune machine.
The Wheel of Fortune machine $1 progressive has a starting jackpot of $300,000 and features bonus spins. To win the jackpot the wheel symbols must lineup on the machine's payline with a maximum bet.
Now I have it seen it with my own eyes so I know it can be done.
So if your looking for a jackpot, come to Native Lights, play the wheel and make sure I'm close by, I guarantee your odds will be good.

Post a CommentThat sounds exciting! I mostly stick to blackjack.
Yup, that's usually how it works at the Casinos. I usually break even and get comped a buffet when I go, which isn't very often. Thanks for sharing!
I'm not good at the slots of any kind. I couldn't be this lucky. Thanks for the article.
I won $100 in pennies once:)
Good for him. I wonder, though, if over a lifetime, he spent as much trying to win as he finally won.
This was a fun read... for me, maybe not for you! Thanks for sharing.
I would be the one who would get up and the next person would win!
