He's just having a hard time showing it
I know it seems like he's always riding you about the little things
But it's his job to love you, teach you and protect you until you get your wings
He really does love you
He knows that eventually every baby bird has gotta fly
Explore the world and experience new things before passing on to the heavenly sky
At night I can sometimes hear him cry
Constantly questioning himself and God why
Why does his son hate him so much
Why can't we be closer than what we are
This is my first born
In my heart he was my first star
He shined bright enough to help me find my way during hard times
He's quickly becoming just a flickering light in my dark clouded life
Lately we've been at each others throat
I feel like I'm losing apart of me, my legacy
These are just some of the things he brings to God's ear out of frustration, confusion and pain
Each time you leave the house full of rage
He locks himself in a pit of depression
He shuts me out, he shuts the world out
Because you are one of his main reasons for living
I agree that change is required from all parties
But I also believe that leaving or running from a situation is not the answer
It's why I stay and pray so much for happiness, for trust and for unity
Family should be apart of everyone's agenda for living a "good life"
You must also understand that with life there are rules
And if you don't agree then you're still not listening
Doesn't matter if you live with family, friends or alone
Rules are everywhere you go so please think about that and know
He does in fact love you and always will
Anyone that cares would want you to grow to be a real man
Not just one that will put up a front and fake his way through
We want you to stand on your own and not just think you can but know you can too
