Mandometer Food Plate Will Tell You when You Are Eating like a Fat Person
Electronic Plate Will Tell You when You Are Eating Too Fast and when to Slow Down
A small group of Swedish scientists have created a product that will speak to eaters. The Mandometer plate will tell the eater when they are eating their food too quickly. Basic in design, the invention consists of a small electronic scale. The scale is designed to fit perfectly under your food plate. Your food will then be weighed while you are consuming your meal. A small screen will then show a graph that explains the rate at which you are eating your food. The Mandometer food plate will inform you whenever you deviate too much from an ideal eating habit.
The cool part about this product is that it will speak to you when you are deviating from your eating habits. This is important because I do not think anyone of us would want to sit there and watch a screen while we are eating (unless it is the television screen of course). The main purpose of this invention is to help train us overweight people from eating too quickly. We will be trained by the warning messages to slow down our food consumption, which will result in us eating less and become satisfied much sooner.
Studies were conducted over an 18 month period of time. The scientists ended up creating two groups of overweight people. One group had access to the Mandometer plate and one group had to cut down on their food consumption themselves. The end result was very positive for those who used the Mandometer plate and negative for those who did not. Those who used the Mandometer food plate ended up cutting back on the portions that they ate. This of course led to drastic weight loss for all of them as well.
The creators of the Mandometer food plate plan to release the plate in Sweden first. Their plan is to test the plate in local diners and then sell it for individual use. This is bad news for us that live in America because it means we will have to wait sometime before it arrives. However, I will be awaiting this invention with guilty pleasure. It would be nice to have something do all the work for me and teach me how to eat properly. I figure one more dieting technique can not hurt if I have already tried everything else out there.
