Manga Based Movies I Would like to See

Pandora Hearts, Clannad and Durarara

Meni
Do you remember, the horror movie, "The Ring?" Well what you may not know is that it was originally a manga and anime series. It became a movie in Japan in 1998. It was then remade in the US in 2002. There was a lesser known movie called, "Dark Water". Like "The Ring" it was a remake of a Japanese movie based after a manga and anime series. Now there is even talk about a remake of "Death Note." In my mind I believe there are more deserving manga that should come over to the US for production. Listed below are three of my personal choices and the reasons I would like to see them made into a movie.

Pandora Hearts

Pandora Hearts is an Alice and Wonderland remake. The story and artwork is by Mochizuki Jun. This makes the top of my list because the story could be easily made into a movie here in the US. I would want to see Tim Burton to direct the movie because of the fact it is an Alice and Wonderland with a Gothic feel to it. I'm unsure who should play the characters, probably some new talent.

Clannad

Clannad is a visual novel created by the software company Key. It was later made into a manga and then an anime series. There was a film made but it was still animated, a live action film is still yet to be made. This second on my list mostly due to it having many slow parts to the story and it would have to have a lot of scenes cut out of it to make it interesting enough for a movie. I would love to see Taylor Lautner play the part of Tomoya Okazaki. I am less worried about who would be staring in and more worried about what music is going to be played and the possibility of name changes. Like Tomoya changed to Tom, Nagisa changed to Niki and so on.

Durarara

Durarara made my third spot because the story is fast paced and wouldn't need to change much. Unfortunately some parts might have to be cut out or changed because of the interests of the American public. I know that people might not be interested in a headless fairy. They probably would need to cut that part out because the flow would interrupt the whole plot of the movie.

So there are my picks for manga stories to be made into movies. With the right directing, actors, and story boarding the American fans could enjoy Japanese anime just like the Japanese do.
