In the past it's always been about color, color, color! Well girls, this year you have more to consider if you want your fingers and your toes to be up to date on the latest fashion trends! Follow these four guidelines and you will be ahead of the game in no time!

First, shorter is better. No I am not telling you to cut your nails down so low that it hurts! But this year shorter is better. In my personal opinion I couldn't be happier. No more wasted time and money on lengtheners and strengtheners! Gone are the days where the longer the better! Keep your nails trimmed and you are on your way to having the trendiest nails for the new season!

Secondly, shape your nails accordingly. Just like not every hair style works for everyone, not every nail shape works for everyone either! If you are not sure what shape fits, ask a professional. After all, this is what they specialize in, this is what their profession is and this is what you are paying them for.

Third, color is the new black! Yes, last year black was the hottest thing around! This year however, dark colors that almost look black are what is in! Try a deep purple or a dark blue! These look great!

Lastly, be creative. If you see a picture of something you like, cut it out and bring it in with you. Add a Crystal or some glitter. And the most recent trend is to do a reverse french manicure! Whatever you do, use your imagination and have fun with it. Why not start a new trend of your own?
