Manifest Your Desires

Make it Happen Now

We've all heard of yogi masters who can stop bleeding instantly, lower blood pressure, reduce breathing and heart rates to almost zero, and perform other seemingly "miraculous" physical feats.

But few of us have personally witnessed such events, and fewer still have tried to imitate them, notwithstanding the amazing control of bodily functions that they prove are possible.

Dr. Deepak Chopra is a world-renowned physician/speaker/author who teaches about mind-body connections. Chopra runs the Chopra Center for Well Being in California in which only natural, holistic medicine is practiced: meditation, natural diets, visualization, massage, etc. Although Chopra has an M.D. degree with a specialty in endocrinology, he comes from an Indian background in Ayurvedic medicine ("knowledge of life") and he easily combines Eastern and Western philosophies of healing.

Chopra's good friend, an author of over 30 books in self-help, psychology, mind-body connections, and spiritual connections, is Dr. Wayne Dyer, who has a Ph.D. in psychology.

These two world-renowned academics, in several audio-cassettes recorded before live audiences, dialogue about the "supernatural" aspects of human beings who can intentionally control their bodies with their minds.

Deepak said he grew up in an Indian village where several people were revered as great yogis, masters, rishis and saints. He had a neighbor who frequently went into "samadhi" ("silence") without moving, for 7 days or more at one time. ("Living Beyond Miracles")

When he was a third year medical student, Deepak asked a saint from the Himalayas to participate in a study for the students. They wired the man up to EEG's and EKG's so his vital signs could be continuously monitored and recorded. They buried him in a box underground for 6 days. The EEG's and EKG's appeared flat. When they dug him out and "awakened" him, he asked for a glass of milk.

Chopra asked him how he could do that because they were taught that the lack of vital signs meant "death." The man said, "No, that is not death; that is the experience of immortality."

Another yogi attended Chopra's physiology class. The man plunged a knife through his upper arm and did not bleed. One student in the front row did not realize the demonstration was real and asked what the man's next "trick" would be. At that moment, the man's arm spurted arterial blood profusely all over the front row of students, but he immediately stopped the blood flow with thought. ("Creating Your World")

Deepak said, while the man was in a higher state of consciousness, he had complete control of his body, because all matter is made up of molecules of matter, which can be controlled with the mind. When the student made him think in an "ego" state as someone separate from other matter, he bled as a normal man, but quickly returned to the higher state of consciousness and stopped the blood flow.

Mind over matter. Although Chopra and Dyer contend that we can go into this higher state of consciousness by meditating twice daily for 20 minutes, by stopping the mind chatter, by raising consciousness, we connect with our natural "Source" and bring back a bit of that power every time we reach that state.

Thus, at some real point in time, we can have a thought, a desire, and manifest the result. The example is of strawberry ice cream. You can go buy some at a store; you can send another person after it (Dyer said this is called "slavery," but it works just as effectively); you can wish for it and cause someone to "appear," like a friend or neighbor who says he has strawberry ice cream; would you like some?; you can wish for it and go to your freezer and find some; or you can think the thought and have a dish of strawberry ice cream manifest in your hand.

Chopra said he knew of "masters" who could make flowers grow along a path as they were walking. Dyer agreed, because he said he had witnessed that, also.

Dyer went on to tell about a "dream" he had for years, about ice skating on a beautiful lake, covered with deep, black ice. He said this was a regular dream until one day, while visiting the Chopra Center in Massachusetts, he "found" the lake, exactly as he had dreamed it. It was perfect for skating. ("Living Beyond Miracles")

It was Sunday, but he asked someone to buy him a pair of ice skates. Although he had not skated since high school, about 34 years earlier, he was able to skate throughout the week, for 23 hours, without falling: doing circles and twirls and skating backwards.

The point here was that the body completely renews itself, every cell in the body, skin, bones and brain, every two years. There was no part of Dyer's present-day body that had skated before, and yet he skated flawlessly in his most-recent version of himself. And, Dyer commented, he felt that he had "manifested" that lake to make the long-standing dream into reality.

Chopra went on to describe a patient who had cancer, but heard of an experimental "cure," so she joined and became cancer-free after few weeks. Then she heard that the experimental drug had been "proven" ineffective, and she got cancer again. But she heard more news that it seemed effective for some cases. She got well again. Then she learned she had been in the placebo ("fake pill") group and the cancer came back.

Chopra made the point that people heal themselves with their beliefs all the time; about 1/3 of people will be "cured" with a placebo that they expect to work, no matter what the problem is. The same "sugar pill" can "cure" someone with high blood pressure, sugar diabetes, migraine headaches, etc. ("Living Without Limits")

In fact, in cultures that think of "time" as circular -- such as seasonal summer, fall, winter, spring, summer, etc. - the people age differently. Whereas Westerners believe we age in linear time as babies, toddlers, youth, adults, middle-aged, and elderly, our biological ages match our expectations. We think 80 is old and we expect people to have physical limitations.

In cultures in which the elderly are revered as wise, the people are physiologically, biologically, and mentally much younger. In their eighties and nineties and hundreds, they can walk for miles a day and swim naked in cold mountain streams and do physical activities of a western 60-year-old.

The titles of these taped conversations tells it all: we can live without limits; live beyond miracles, and create our world the way we really want it to be.

By using the power of the mind, we can do anything, with belief and the power of intention. At first, results seem to come slowly in time, but as we practice, we can produce an instantaneous result, which is called "synchronicity." Others have already shown it can be done.
