We slept under bridges,
but those bridges have burned.
We slept under the stars and sky
but before the earth began, before our eyes
they burned down.
We thought we could survive,
we thought we could skip the apocalypse.
How can we be right
and how can we be wrong
all at the same time?
When everything we knew
no longer holds true
and the lies we were made to believe
start to exist, but then start to recede?
We slept under roofs
only to have those roofs taken away from us.
We slept on lies
only to have our truths being swept from under us.
We slept to soft words at night,
only to wake up to harsh realities during daylight.
We stayed up and overslept
and now there is nothing else left for us.
