Mani's AC Contribution Crosses 200

T. Ramaswamy
It is a matter of luck and satisfaction that AC has shown great tolerance to my writings. AC has encouraged me to contribute several articles on a variety of subjects in the areas of religion, spirituality, health, politics, humour, senior and society. The motivation for such contribution comes solely from the urge to share my experience, anecdotes and views with a larger enlightened audience. This is facilitated through the medium and goodwill of AC.

it is really a matter of credit for AC, its staff and its policies. Constant efforts are made by the AC staff for improving the communication between the editorial staff and the CPs, inviting and answering comments and complaints and questions. Improvements are also made in increasing the frequency of page view statements and estimating performance bonus entitlements. These are laudable.

However, there is some doubt regarding the choice of key words in the various articles. The most common key word used need not necessarily be the one approved by AC. Key words indicated in the submission format, sometimes do not figure at all. It will be helpful to many CPs if this aspect is clarified and guidelines offered. As a suggestion a list of key words preferred by AC may be published at regular intervals. The CPs welcome such a move so that the contents can be more relevant, useful and easily searchable.

Though the reward at present is confined to providing satisfaction and recognition of the writer's talents, it has not yet started yielding any significant pecuniary benefits apart from negligible performance bonus. It is not clear why some discrimination still exists in the case of outside the US CPs who are placed at a disadvantage.

If a uniform policy is applicable to all CPs it would have been greatly welcomed and appreciated. But difficulties on account of tax laws, if true, certainly can be legally overcome. Countries having double taxation agreements have provision for taxing the income received abroad in the country of residence of the CP. Payments sent through Pay Pal come through legal banking channels and are accounted for tax purpose.

Needless to say I enjoy writing for AC. This has been my experience from day one. It has given me increasing satisfaction and confidence. The comments of readers communicated to me are valuable and they enable to improve writing and presentation skills. It goes without saying, writing to the site will continue with more variety of contents entering the field. This possibly may include events and anecdotes of interest, against the background of developing countries.
