Man-Muse

A Giggle for the Ladies

Arkay Evans
He catered to her every whim
as men had always done;
An aging, lovely cocoa queen
still shining like the sun,

smiling from behind clear lines
of fine wines and private puns,
her fame was pointing at him
like a tricky, loaded gun...

On the low He would have paid
just to be her love slave;
an inspired dark side
tied in velvet ropes
exploring sensual slopes
and shallow caves;

He was the Muse who would have paid
to have one night and to obey,
for he knew it was a must
to be the one she could trust
'cause the girl had toys and knew how to play...

He filed.
"Marriage killed our private lust."
the Man-Muse came out to accuse,
whined and claimed he was abused,
gathered up lawyers and sued,
demanding pay
for having been lucky enough to lay in fame
as her pampered love slave,
oh well, so goes another prenup used...

"I loved him", she wept to the nosy press;
Later on with her mind completely undressed
she shocked us all when she said with glee,

"What ever happened to the good ole' days
when all my muses were brilliant gays
and gigolos willing to work for free?

    Wow! Very poetic, and a good story. The irony reminds me of some poet from Early Modern England, making some serious statements, yet still tongue-in-cheek. Nice poem!
