Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Fight Cancelled

If Manny Doesn't Get Paid Fairly, Why Pursue It?

posh_post
After upsetting Golden Boy Oscar dela Hoya last December 6, 2008 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, it seemed that Manny Pacquiao is ready to take on another boxing great--Floyd Mayweather, Jr.

But last night, I heard in the news that the fight may not be pursued because of problems of sharing in the income. Manny was called a spoiled young kid because he would not sign the contract and would rather forego the fight.

Well, I think that is ridiculous--I mean the name calling. I think that the purpose of signing a contract is when two or more parties agree to the terms and conditions. If one or the other is not amenable to it, then he should not sign it. Because if you do, then the agreement is binding. So if Manny did not sign the contract, so what?

And well, it is really Manny's choice. If he thinks it is not worth his while, why bother? I think Manny has earned the right of refusal. And I think that it is just logical that if he doesn't like the conditions, he should not pursue it. It is not fair to call him spoiled. So what if people are coaching him?

Anyway, Manny do find another worthy opponent.

No serious student of boxing took this possibility seriously - it come only days after the Hatton bout fell thought. Although no one thinks Mayweather was serious about it, it seems likely that Pac-man's ODLH victory has given him a serious case of swelled ego, and he is pricing himself out of business.
