Off of Park Avenue west you will find several delightful parks awaiting your discovery and enjoyment. All are relatively close to one another, and can easily be walked to from any where in the the Park Avenue west neighborhood.
Lets start with South Park. I am sure some people had visited South Park exclusively for its name. This is a really nice and quiet park that receives plenty of police supervision. Bicyclist love south Park, as it is an ideal place to ride your bike along the lovely paths. Of course dogs are welcome to visit South Park, however they must remained leashed and under control at all times, this translates to keep your dog somewhat quiet, leashed and please clean up after your four legged friend!
The police department frequently patrols this area to prevent crime and "urban renewal", whatever that means. South Park is more for walking, jogging or riding bicycles more than it is intended for playing. I did not notice a playground at South Park, but you will find a shelter house, and picnic area complete with public grills. Also a nice trail leads you through the woods of south Park. While enjoy the walk through the woods I observed a marvelous white owl at south Park.
Middle Park is also in the immediate vicinity. Middle Park is also a nice park, and is slightly larger. The paved streets are great for a peaceful ride on your bike. Middle Park features a really great trail through the woods and a creek as well as a picnic area, a shelter house, a foot bridge and plenty of walking trails. I enjoyed my very peaceful visit to Middle Park in Mansfield Ohio.
There are so many more city parks in Mansfield Ohio that I hope to visit in the near future. If I had to estimate I would say there are over fifteen other city parks in Mansfield Ohio. It is refreshing to see that this beautiful city maintains areas for its residents and visitors to get out and enjoy the spectacular terrain.
If you live in Mansfield, or are just visiting, please get out and enjoy the great parks the city has to offer, and also offer your financial support if you can. When enjoying an afternoon at the parks of Mansfield please remember to clean up after your family and your pets so that others will have an enjoyable afternoon at the park also!
