Manswers; A Television Program Review

Bill Hanks
This past week I had a very busy and frustrating day. I sat down on the couch late that night and started surfing the television to see if anything decent was on. I came across a program that wasn't decent but, it did hold my attention. The name of the program was called Manswers. It is on the Spike network. It views at 11 pm on Tuesday nights. However, the next show is listed for Monday December 1 at 11 pm.

The program is very fast paced. It asks questions that some men have wondered about. The questions are very crude. However, there is a lot of humor involved with each question and answer. Manswers races through re-enactments, expert answers, and man on the street interviews. Most topics are taboo on what guys on the street would ask. A lot of the questions are sexist. It is a program that women would laugh at but, also find the questions and answers on the sexist side.

Some of the questions are;

Are natural boobs getting bigger? Does spanking lead to horniness? What is the secret to improving your urinary aim? Who should you pray to cure your hangover? What music is most likely to make someone depressed or even suicidal? How can a burger joint cure your hemorrhoids? What is the freshest meat you can eat for free? These are some of the cleaner questions.

The program runs for thirty minutes. However, it is not unusual for Spike to run several programs back to back. It first aired in September of 2007. The first season had nine half hour episodes. There are thirteen for 2008. It ranks #2 for men ages 25 to 34 and #3 for ages 18 to 34. The producers are Akifumi Takuma, Michael Schelp, with help from Brant Reiter. The first year had a viewing average of 1.1 million viewers.

I found the program to be irreverent, ludicrous, crude, but most of all funny. Watching the program helped me forget about the problems of the day and put a smile on my face.

Manwers has their own web site as well it can be found at www.spike.com .
