Many Faces of Purple

Bettina R. Smith
In this world, purple has
so many meanings.
Being purple is special,
as if it has a spiritual
connection.

Purple is a mystery;
it is like no one knows
where it came from.
Perhaps it is the offspring
of red and blue.

It is my favorite color;
I take it everywhere I go,
whether it is going to work
or to a party.
Purple is my form of friendship;
it is my BFF (best friend forever).
It is there for me in good times
as well as bad times.

Purple is: sacred, royalty,
and nobility; will make you
sing a romantic ballad in a
slow manner.

Purple can put a child's
imagination at ease and
into a playing frenzy.
Purple is full of diversion
and excitement.

When I think of purple, I
also think in terms of
music.
I think Purple Rain and
Purple Haze, two of my
favorite songs.

Purple is also delicious;
think eggplant, grapes,
and wine.
