Many Individuals (poem)

Kellen Fairly

It's true we're both, a human being

And yet so different, is what most are seeing

We're so alike, there's is so much there

Yet we both breath, a different air

Let it be known, we're not the same

And that's one thing, I'd hate to change

I'm not like you, no matter what you are

Why I'd be a moon if you were a star

I do not want, to be like anyone

That's suicide, and it's not fun

I will stick out, like the sorest thumb

And to all your ways, I'll now be numb

Our ways of life, will cross a times

But they won't match, and they won't rhyme

When you go left, then I'll head right

So that all our ways, won't be in sight

So you are you, and I am me

I hope that's plain, as plain can be

We'll both be cool, and style we'll strike

But I hope, (and pray) we're not alike

From "The Gestalt Prayer" by Fritz Perls: "... You are you and I am me, and if by chance we find each other, it's beautiful ..."
