Spice Uses

Trying to quit smoking? If you are then you have to try this out. Keep dried cloves in your mouth and suck on them for a few hours. After you spit it out, add some more. The cloves neutralize the taste of nicotine making it much easier to quit smoking.

You can make some effective deodorant by mixing equal parts of cornstarch and baking soda with a little bit of cloves.

Allspice powder holds the cure for a toothache. All you have to do is put 1 or 2 teaspoons of allspice powder into a cup of boiling water. Steep it for up to 20 minutes and then strain it. Gargle the formula while swishing it in your mouth and then spit.

Cloves can also get rid of a nasty toothache. All you have to do is put a clove between the tooth and your cheek, hold it there for about an hour and then replace it with a fresh one every hour or so.

Need to get rid of a nasty cough? Suck on a clove. The clove will help to soothe a scratchy throat and make your breath smell spicy yet sweet.

Fennel and dill seeds after meals can make your breath smell wonderful.

Dry mustard and sea salt mixed together in a warm bathtub can help relax achy muscles.

You can get rid of the horrid odor of onions by just pouring a little dry mustard onto your hands. Rub the mustard in and then rinse it off.

Cloves and cinnamon in a simmering pot can make your house smell beautiful.

If you are selling your house and you want to arouse the potential buyers, put some cinnamon sticks, cloves, and orange rinds into the oven and bake on a low temp. Your house will smell good and increase your probability of selling your home.

Have a clogged drain? All you have to do is mix ½ cup of cream of tartar, 1 cup of salt, and 1 cup of baking soda in a jar. Pour the mix down the drain and then chase it down with 2 cups of boiling hot water. Wait a minute and then rinse with cool water.

If you want fresh smelling carpet, sprinkle your carpet with a sweet spice such as nutmeg or ginger. Vacuum it up.

Ground cloves will keep ants away. In warm summer months sprinkle the cloves around your doors, cabinets, or anywhere else that may attract these little insects.

Garlic powder dusted on the plants in your garden will keep pesky insects away from your foliage.

Do you have freckles that you do not like? If you want them to fade fast just dissolve a little sugar in 2 tablespoons of lemon juice and apply the mixture to every freckle with a cotton ball. You should repeat this every couple of days to watch them fade.

Got pimples? Sugar can clear them right up. Just mix the sugar with a couple drops of water and then wipe it onto the pimples.

Sugar makes a great exfoliate for your skin. Just rub some sugar mixed with warm water on the skin and unleash vibrant new skin.

Sugar on the tongue after scalding your mouth with coffee or tea can help to heal it right up.

Have you lost game pieces for your favorite board game? Sugar cubes work just as great.

If you are planning on growing tomatoes, when you dig the hole add a spoonful of sugar down the hole and then plant the tomato. Your tomatoes will be deliciously sweet.

If you want some extra tasty rhubarb to grow in your garden, during the growing season just give your rhubarb a quality of dry, balanced garden food and then mix in ½ cup of sugar per 5 pounds of food. Put the mix onto the entire planting bed and keep it watered well.

Sugar can help to cure cuts and scrapes. All you have to do is mix 4 parts sugar with 1 part beadine ointment. You will want to first wash and dry the wound and then make sure that the bleeding has come to a complete stop. Then dab some of the mix onto the wound and then cover it with a bandage. You should repeat this same procedure three or four times a daily in the beginning. Once the wound begins to heal you can narrow it down to once a day until completely healed.
