There are many different types of flooring you can put in your home. Maple flooring offers a variety of benefits and drawbacks to the homeowner. This article will take a look at some of the pros and cons of maple hardwood flooring.

Pros
Strength

One of the biggest advantages of maple hardwood flooring is its strength. This type of wood is very dense and close-grained. Therefore, you won't have to worry about denting, scratching, or splintering as much.

Maintenance

Maple hardwood flooring is also very easy to maintain. You simply have to sweep regularly to get up dust which acts as an abrasive. You will also need to mop and dry immediately on a routine basis. This type of floor can stay in prime condition for years if you maintain it correctly.

Allergens

Some people are very sensitive to certain allergens. Maple hardwood flooring is a great solution for this problem. This type of floor won't harbor allergens as easily as ceramic tile or carpeting.

Look

Maple hardwood flooring looks very beautiful in your home. It is suitable for use in decor ranging from traditional to contemporary. Also, it increases the value of your home upon installation.

Cons

For all of these benefits, maple hardwood flooring does have a few cons. The biggest disadvantage is that maple reacts easily to temperature and humidity changes. You will need to control both of these if you have this type of flooring in your home.

If the humidity gets too high, the wood may swell. When the temperature or humidity level gets too low, maple hardwood flooring may start to shrink. This can lead to the appearance of gaps or the wood may even start squeaking whenever you walk over it.

Another disadvantage of maple hardwood flooring is that it doesn't stain uniformly. You also won't like the fact that it is very expensive.

These are some of the advantages and disadvantages of maple hardwood flooring. It is very easy to maintain. It's also very dense and durable, so it's hard to dent or scratch. However, you will need to monitor temperature and humidity levels closely since the floor will be affected by these changes.
