James R. Ford
for Marguerite, aka Peggy, Ma, Nana

it's been seven long years
but not a day goes by
that I don't remember your love

all the tender moments
your nervous little cliches
"I need bread and I need milk"

funny, how I can still hear your voice
your laughter, your concerns,
your blue, blue eyes
partially hidden by glasses

Friday, we shall place flowers on your stone
commemorating your birthday
with a prayer and some tears

Alana will ask
"When will we see our Nana?"
"Someday", I'll reply,
someday, we will all be together,
in a a group hug
sharing tears of joy.
