March 3rd a Historic Day in Washington D.C

Marriage Licenses Will Be Issued for Same Sex Marriages in the Nation's Capitol

Last December after legislation passed 11-2 D.C. Mayor Fenty signed a bill that would make same sex marriages in the nation's capitol legal.

So far the U.S. Supreme Court has refused to block these marriages, and at this late date it does not look like it is going to be blocked. And Chief Justice John Roberts has said, let the local courts decide the matter.

So on March 3rd, 2010 in Washington, D.C. there will be a line of people waiting to obtain their marriage licenses, and three days from that people in same sex relationships can legally marry in the nation's capitol.

Washington D.C. will join Iowa, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Vermont, and New Hampshire as the sixth region that allows same sex marriage in the United States.
