Themed Wine Tastings
During March, Lincoln Park's popular D.O.C. Wine Bar is pleased to offer bi-weekly themed wine tastings. Join in on Monday, March 17 when the wine tasting features 12 different kinds of Meritage wines, including reds like Petit Verdot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon and whites like Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. See what really goes into world renowned Meritage wines, grape by grape, as tasters explore what each grape variety contributes.

On Monday, March 31, take a trip through Chile and Argentina with D.O.C. Wine Bar's South American themed wine tasting. Guests can taste Torrontes, Carmenere and Malbec.

Wine tastings occur every other Monday, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. The cost to attend is $35 per person, and reservations with a credit card are required. Seating is limited; to reserve a spot call D.O.C. Wine Bar at (773) 883-5101.

Private Wine Tastings
D.O.C. Wine Bar has introduced its new private wine tasting program, in which D.O.C. Wine Bar will treat customers to a personal wine tasting. Guests may bring their own wine, or let the trained D.O.C. Wine Bar staff select the bottle. Costs to participate in the program vary on the wine selections. Millionaire Flight Specials
Each Friday, D.O.C. Wine Bar offers special wine flights of rare and expensive wines to offer patrons a chance to try these wines normally offered by the bottle only. On Friday, March 7, join D.O.C. Wine Bar for the Rioja flight, consisting of a 2003 El Coto De Imaz, Crianza, 1996 Bodegas Faustino, Gran Reserva and 1987 R. Lopez De Heredia, Gran Reserva. Friday, March 14, the Millionaire flight theme is Bordeaux, with a 2004 Font Villac, St. Emillion, 2002 De Pinchon La Lande "Le Gartieux," Pauillac and 2002 Leoville-Poyferre 2nd Growth, St. Julien. On Friday, March 21, D.O.C. Wine Bar presents a Napa Valley Cabernet flight, consisting of 2005 Merryvale "Starmont," 2004 Mt. Veeder and 2004 Robert Mondavi Reserve. The final Millionaire flight of the month is Friday, March 28 with a theme of German Riesling from Mosel. This flight includes a 2004 Joh. Jos. Prum, 2004 Markus Molitor and 1990 Eitelsbacher Karthauserhof.

The Millionaire flights are available every Friday evening, 5 p.m. until close. The cost of the flights vary from $25 - $45, although the bottles of wines used typically range from $75 - $150 each. For more information about the Millionaire flights, call (773) 883-5101.

Festa della Dome
During the month of March, Frasca Pizzeria & Wine Bar is paying homage to its Italian roots by celebrating traditional Italian holidays in addition to its weekly specials. Saturday, March 8 marks the Festa della Dome, festival of women in Italy. On this holiday, men often bring flowers to the women in their lives. At Frasca Pizzeria & Wine Bar, each lady that dines on that date will receive a fresh, complimentary flower from the staff.

Rome Marathon
On Saturday, March 15, Frasca Pizzeria & Wine Bar encourages "carbo-loading" for the Rome Marathon, which takes place the following day. Pasta selections showcase Frasca Pizzeria & Wine Bar's new spring menu, including Linguine con Polpette and Salsa Pomodoro, linguine pasta with braised meatballs, and tomato basil ragu ($14); Penne con Salmoni and Salsa della Vodka, penne with salmon, spinach and a light tomato vodka cream sauce ($15); Farfalle con Carciofi and Pollo, bowtie pasta with artichoke, chicken, tomato and mint in a lemon garlic cream sauce ($14).
