Marching in the Blizzard

Brett Davison
There is a blizzard
A blizzard of cold, icy blades
A blizzard of treachurous, willful winds
A blizzard of corruptive, dead ash
A blizzard that spans across the world

It roars and shrieks
It writhes in fury and devours all before it
It sweeps through the streets
It flows through the heavens
It bares its icy teeth
It shakes its ashen fists

And all of this
It does out of fear...

Fear of the Son of God
Fear of the Son of Man
Fear of the Sun of a storm-gripped world

Becuase He dares to walk in its streets
Because He dares to love its captives
Because He dares to burn away its mark
Because He dares to shine in the dark
Because He dares to march in the blizzard

And so it drives us into shadowed corners
It cuts at us with its icy knives
It threatens us with its bellowing winds
Becuase the darkness fears the light

Who among us will light up their candles?
Who will burn in the night?
Who will follow His stride?

Who will march in the blizzard?
