Pros
The Marcy Classic Upright Fan Bike comes unassembled but it is an easy one to assemble. The assembled unit shows that this is a decently built machine. Its dual-action feature means your upper body can get a good workout at the same time with your lower body.
Like most exercise bikes the Marcy Classic also features and LCD display which tells you about the time, calories burned, distance and speed. Anyway this is where the list of good points ends.
Cons
The biggest disadvantage of this bike is that the wheel really makes loud noise. If you want to watch TV while exercising you have to turn up the volume. The wind coming from the wheels don't do much in cooling your body too since it blows toward your ankle.
Another grief is the seat. The seat on this bike is hard and uncomfortable so if you buy this you need to buy additional gel seat or foam pad cover to save your bottom. There are a lot of good quality aftermarket gel seat for about $25. Just pick one and your bottom will thank you greatly.
Next is the resistance. If you're used to those magnetic resistance bikes this bike is a laugh. It has enough resistance for novice but for intermediate and serious competitors the resistance simply isn't there. Even when you pedal as hard as you can it still too easy.
Conclusion
The Marcy Classic upright fan bike is a basic dual-action exercise bike that can make you sweat. However, considering the noise it makes and the hard seat it may not be the best bike in its price range. If you enjoy exercising in early morning this bike will wake up the rest of the house and if you don't buy a gel seat your bottom will sore after each exercise session. In the end it might be better to buy the much quieter magnetic resistance bike instead.
