Mardi Gras was meant to be a fun time of frivolty with good times to be had by all. Even if you can't make it to New Orleans for Mardi Gras, you can make your own good time and get your children involved with this fun, quick, and easy Mardi Gras activities.

King Cake Party

Supplies:

A purchased King Cake

Strands of beads purchased in bulk from local party supply stores

Lots of friends

Invite all the kids and their friends over for a King Cake Party this Mardi Gras season. Slice the King Cake into individual servings and pass around. Whomever gets the baby in their slice of cake is crowned the king or queen of the party.

Make and Takes: Mardi Gras Mask

Supplies:

Unfinished masks purchased from local party supply stores

Glue

Glitter

Beads

Feathers

Staples

Give each child a mask to decorate and keep for his very own. This would be a good activity leading uo to the King Cake party so that guests will have masks to wear at the party.

Masquerade Ball

Supplies:

A party setting with music, snacks, and entertainment

Lots of friends in costume

Strands of beads and Mardi Gras decorations purchased at local party supply stores

Put on a costume contest for the best/worst costume or turn it into a "Who's Behind That Mask?" guessing game party. Have prizes available for the winners.
