Mardi Gras Safety Tips

If you are going to Mardi Gras festivities it is important to know what type of festivities you are going to and the area that the festivities will be held. Some festivities last late and the area may not be desirable at night. People will need to use common sense and take into account safety tips. Thinking clearly may not be easy before or during festivities so this article will help.

Adults who are looking for adult entertainment and a little excitement will want to go to Mardi Gras festivities that are for adults. It will be less likely that they get arrested at an adult Mardi Gras celebration for their celebrating behaviors. This will not only keep the adult safe, but also the families.

People who are looking for family entertainment or who do not want to see others body parts (without asking) may want to go to family festivities for Mardi Gras. Family festivities can be fun if that is what you are looking for. They are also patrolled more than the adult festivities.

When going to Mardi Gras festivities it is always best to know what type of festivities are available and which ones are in what vicinity. Parents with children may not want to go to Mardi Gras festivities that everyone is drinking and the adults are taking off their clothes. Adults without children may not want to go to a family event. Each type of event offers its own unique hazards. Here are a few Mardi Gras safety tips that can be used for family or adult festivities.

Safety in numbers - No matter where a person is, it is best for them to be with someone they know. There is safety in numbers. An adult that goes to adult festivities should always take at least one friend. It is best to have more than one adult when taking a child or children to family festivities.

Stay together - When going to Mardi Gras festivities as a group, the group should stay together. There is safety in numbers and if everyone is together, no one will get lost on his or her own.

Keep an eye on your children - Most Mardi Gras festivities will include at least one parade. Most Mardi Gras festivities will also have carnival rides. Parents need to watch their children so the children do not get hurt, take off, or get taken. Children may run for what is thrown during the parade and can get hurt by the next group in the parade, or trampled by the other bystanders.

Watch for thrown objects - Moon pies can be deadly. They are fattening, but if someone throws one and hits someone else with it, they could get injured. Beads and necklaces are usually thrown from the parade participants. Bystanders need to be aware of what is being thrown and where it is going.

Be aware of surroundings - Adults should watch where they are at and be aware of anyone that looks as if he or she does not belong. Parents should especially be aware of strangers that talk to their children.

These tips will help everyone be safe during Mardi Gras. Mardi Gras is about having fun so enjoy yourself and be safe.
