Starting with the food, Margaritas gives you tortilla chips and a spicy salsa dip for your complimentary appetizer. Sodas also have free refills and since the food comes out slowly, you can fill up on both chips and drinks. The main course meals really make Margaritas stand out from the crowd of Mexican restaurants. The quesadillas are deceivingly small and most people won't be able to finish the meal. The quesadillas are compact with whatever type you choose. You can get quesadillas with meat, vegetables or just cheese. The choice is entirely yours. You can even customize your own taco, burrito or quesadilla.
As for desert, Margaritas has some very unique deserts including everyone's favorite, fried ice cream and flan. The fried ice cream is served on a taco shell and the flan is soft and moist, making it delicious. It is very rare to find a restaurant that serves good old fashioned flan.
I was very impressed with menu prices. I was expected my meal to come out to more than $20 including tip and tax because I had ordered a soda along with my meal but my total cost was $15. I did not order desert because I was stuffed from my quesadilla entrée. Alcoholic drinks are light and they specialize in martini and mixed drinks.
The Ambiance is very nice at Margaritas and it is perfect for any type of party or group of people including families, dates, friends, or couples. Parking is also made very easy because Margaritas is located in the heart of a shopping center with its own parking lot.
Portsmouth is a city in New Hampshire with a select few restaurants that aren't common chain restaurants. For example, you will certainly find Applebee's, Starbucks or Wendy's but you'll be hard pressed to find a mom and pop restaurant like Margaritas. Plus, Margaritas is the only Mexican restaurant in the entire city of Portsmouth.
If you are looking for great tasting Mexican food in New Hampshire, then Margaritas is the place for you.
