Margaritaville: Restaurant, Tiki Bar and a Slice of Paradise

Most people can definitely appreciate what Jimmy Buffett has stood for and brought to the table since the infant stage of his career till now. Creating this so called fantasyland known as Margaritaville, many of us can relate to and step away from life's daily stress and routines if just for a little while. Since the early 1960's, Jimmy Buffett has been captivating and entertaining audiences of all ages with his memorable lyrics set to a Caribbean and French style of music. Then came his entertaining fiction books, trivia book and scrap book and even two children's books that he co-wrote with his daughter Savannah Jane. Margaritaville tequila and a new beer called Landshark Lager have also been introduced fairly recently to aid in your beach party. If that wasn't enough for all you PARROTHEADS out there, there are now 13 reasons for diversifying your party habits and changing your dress code. The newest sensation known none other than Margaritaville is definitely not to be missed.

Jimmy Buffett's latest craze of restaurants and cargo shops have taken off over the past few years. What started out in Key West, Florida as an experiment and tourist destination by Jimmy Buffett as he tested the retail and restaurant markets, has blossomed and not just in the states. Ocho Rios, Montego Bay and Negril in Jamaica, Cancun, Grand Cayman and Turks and Caicos can proudly claim the prestigious honor of having a Margaritaville store and restaurant. There is the chance that a Margaritaville will be opening up near you real soon. The newest Margaritaville will be opening up at the Beachcomber in Waikiki, Hawaii with rumors of one coming to Connecticut at the Mohegan Sun Casino this fall!

Each Margaritaville restaurant and shop is uniquely different, enticing you to explore each and everyone for yourself. From the 16,000 ft. thatched roof restaurant at Turks and Caicos serving 52 varieties of margaritas to the awe inspiring Myrtle Beach restaurant with a replica of Jimmy Buffet's water plane inside complete with a fishing boat that acts as a a dinning area. A model of his boat, the Euphoria as well as a scaled down replica of a black and white striped lighthouse that towers above the restaurant adding a nice exclamation point.

Now, time to talk food and beverages! Each restaurant has unique menu options depending on the location and the flavor of that particular culture. For example crab cakes, coconut shrimp, Calypso mahi-mahi, jerk salmon, jambalaya and crawfish etouffe can be ordered but only at the Margaritaville that is associated with that particular culture. Yes, the famous "cheeseberger in paradise" served with lettuce and tomato, Heinze 57 and french fried potatoes is always an option, however their specialty dinners are out of this world, no pun of course. Starters, sides, salads and soups, specialties, grilled foods, kids meals and desserts are all part of the experience. With the large menu features, their is no reason for anyone to go away disappointed or hungry! Specialty drinks of every color and flavor of the rainbow are available with Margaritaville tequila being the headliner for tequila drinks. Various mixed drinks, beers, ales and lagers featuring Jimmy's Landshark lager are also available. For those of you that are not alcohol drinkers, their are assorted soft drinks and non-alcoholic drinks as well!

While you are enjoying your meal, their is various entertainment during the course of the day and week. Concerts, Mardi-Gras stilt walkers, Buffett music and videos shown on the big screen offers a nice relaxed party atmosphere to lift any ones spirits. You never know when Jimmy Buffett and his Coral reefer Band will drop by unexpectedly to perform on stage. Their are also various performers that will perform at various times to add to the entertainment and dinner experience. It is best to call ahead to find out what form of entertainment will be performing on any given day.

Dress code consists of pants, shorts, shirt or tee shirt and flip flops or other casual dress that enables you to enjoy the relaxed and fun atmosphere that is a big part of Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville restaurant and store.

So, get up, get ready for a welcomed experience and entertaining time at Margaritaville. You will not be disappointed and the ambiance will surely mesmerize and astound you, and be aware of the Weather channel 's Hurricane update! Put on your dancing shoes, parrot hat, fins, Caribbean shirt and anything else that will get you in the mood for a great time, find your lost shaker of salt and enjoy!
