The lovely and talented Marie Osmond has had hard times in her life. She also has been very successful. Olive Marie Osmond is 50-years old and is well known for her recent 50-pound weight loss. She is an actress and singer and is of course a member of the Osmond family.

She and her brother, Donnie, are in Las Vegas together at the Flamingo Hotel in a show called Donny & Marie, which is a 90-minute variety show.

Marie is a successful country music artist having hits in the 70s and 80s including Paper Roses. In 1976, she and her singer brother Donny Osmond began hosting the TV variety show Donny & Marie.

Marie and actor John Schneider co-founded the Children's Miracle Network ,which saves and improved the lives of children by raising money for children's hospitals around the United States.

Marie sells her famous dolls on QVC, in retail stores and on the Internet. She has been passionate about her dolls for the last 18 years. Her first was a toddler doll she named after her mom, Olive May. It set a record on QVC in the collectible category.

Marie is Mormon. She has been married and divorced twice. She has eight children from those two marriages including five adopted children. Her first marriage was to Stephen Craig, a Brigham Young University basketball player. They had one son, Stephen James Craig born in 1983. She and Stephen divorced in the mid 80s.

Her second husband is Brian Blosil who adopted Stephen Craig. With Brian she had two more children, Rachel Lauren born in 1989 and Matthew Richard born in 1999. They adopted five children one of whom was Michael.

Marie shared that she had suffered from postpartum depression in 1999 after the birth of Matthew. She, Marcie Wilkie and Dr. Judith Moore co-wrote a book called Behind the Smiles.

Two and a half years ago Marie's then 16-year old son Michael went into rehab. Marie has shared that her daughter Jessica, another adopted child, is gay. Although being gay goes against the Mormon faith, Marie is dedicated to her children and stands by them.

It has been reported by many media outlets that Marie's 18-year old son, Michael, the one who went into rehab jumped from his apartment in Los Angeles, California. He had been extremely depressed much of his life. It has been reported that he left a note behind. The family has asked for privacy and prayers. Marie and Donnie have canceled their Las Vegas show for now.
