Marie Osmond Back on Las Vegas Stage, Day After Son's Funeral

The old saying "the show must go on" is apparently true in the case of Marie Osmond and the Osmond family and their Las Vegas show. One day after funeral services for Marie's 18 year old son, Michael Blosil, Marie was back performing in the Donny and Marie Show at the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas.

Michael Bolsil was the second of five children adopted by Marie and her ex-husband, Brian Blosil. The couple also had two biological children. They divorced in 2007 after being married 21 years. Marie also has a son Stephen Craig from a brief first marriage.

Michel Bosil leaped to his death on February 26, from the roof of an apartment building where he had been staying. He was very much loved by his family but had been battling drugs and depression. His parents thought he was doing well. He had a 3.9 average in high school and was looking forward to attending college.

Fans of the Osmonds wonder if it is too soon for Marie to go back to work. But it seems economically, Marie doesn't have much choice. The big money making days the family enjoyed for many years are over. They are not getting any younger and all the Osmonds have huge families. Their fans are getting older too, but still love to see the Osmonds perform.

Since 1973 Marie Osmond has been working. She starred with brother Donny in the popular TV show, Donny and Marie. Both became teen pop stars and had several pop music hits .Through out the years she has worked steadily. She has acted on Broadway and appeared in a made for TV movie, The Gift of the Magi. She and her family appear often on TV specials and concert tours.

She is a doll designer, a book author and appeared on Dancing With the Stars where she fainted. Recently after losing 50 pounds she was hired as spokesperson for Nutri System.

Although some believe it is too soon for Ms .Osmond to go back on stage, she has other considerations. A lot of people are affected if she doesn't work. Over 100 people work on the present Vegas Donny and Marie Show. If the show is cancelled, they don't get paid. The show has already sold many advance tickets.

Marie Osmond has a contract she is legally obligated to honor. The Flamingo Hotel is requiring her to make up the performances she missed by extending the shows run 5 days.

Not sure I could have done this, but more power to her.

I feel so bad for her, but she probably needed something else to focus on. Good luck to her and her family.

I can only say good for her, I'm not sure I would be that strong for many weeks.

So sad, but some people find solace in work.

It's never too soon. Work is a healer, builder of self confidence and esteem. Glad to see Marie taking control.

She is a much braver woman than I....I would not be able to do it! Good read!

Mist have been one of, if not THE, hardest performances Marie ever had to do.
