SCENT
This is what made me feel sick when I opened it. The odor emanating from the jar was horrible! Maybe this is just for me, typically liking clean, fresh scents, but my family also smelled it and thought it smelled horrible. However, not wanting to waste money and see if this really worked, I tried it the next day.
FORMULA
Luckily when my items arrived, I had a horrible blemish that would not go away for days! I followed the instructions the next morning and out on the drying cream, trying to make sure the smell was not with me. At the end of the day, I examined my face in the mirror, hoping to see it was completely gone. Well, no such luck. However, it was COMPLETELY dried up. This is really gross to talk about, but it really did work to dry up the zit. I applied it again the next morning, and what do you know? At the end of that day, it was just a tiny scab. It did not leave any marks or scars or anything and to this day, has dried up all zits within two days.
FUNCTIONALITY
This is a great product because it works for unexpected pimples and acne. I'd say it is pretty functional. You just have the jar in your bathroom, and whenever you have a zit that looks out of control, you just apply this drying cream, and that's it! Super easy, super fast, no more issues with horrible zits. Of course, this worked for me, but may not for everyone. I have the lovely advantage of having combination skin, making it hard to find products that work in the middle. However, Mario Badescu claims this works for all skin tones!
PACKAGING
The packaging looks like a regular cream, white with green writing. Of course it has the signature Mario Badescu logo and writing, but otherwise, is not distinguishable from any other cream. One thing that is different though is the pot form. Typically, I see spot treatments in a tube.
PRICE
Mario Badescu Drying Cream retails for $12 for 0.5 oz of product. For how well this works, I am happy to pay it. No other spot treatments have ever worked. Of course, this does smell horrible, but you win some, you lose some.
FINAL OPINIONS
I am super happy with how well this worked for me and have also had success with other members of my family. Since it is skin care, though, I would have a consultation or try it before you buy it. Luckily, Mario Badescu has a great program where you fill out a short questionnaire and they send you samples of a personalized skin care regimen. I, unfortunately, found out about this after I placed my order, but oh well. If anyone is interested, you can visit www.mariobadescu.com/questionnaire.aspx.
