Mario Kart: The Movie Trailer Burning Rubber
A Trailer for Mario Kart: The Movie Has Been Created by Some Huge Fans of the Game
Mario Kart The Movie is the brainchild of some very innovative film creators and can be seen here on a YouTube posting. It's not the first time that someone has come up with the idea to spoof the Nintendo game and create a film based on it (two are linked at end of article), but this is the best looking one so far, and it seems like they took a lot of time making sure that they got a number of the details correct, even the mannerisms of a number of the characters. Sure it's a bit of a low budget presentation, but that needs to be set aside for the creativity that that the guys (and gal) put into making this film.
In the Mario Kart The Movie trailer we see how Mario has gone through a rough life, and is now out of racing, and back to his life as a plumber. He seems to be almost content with that life until he finds out that brother Luigi has been seriously injured in another race. At his bed-side Mario learns that Luigi was taken out by the evil Wario, and sets out to make it back into racing, and ultimately have the chance to race against the foe that took out Luigi. Sure it's a familiar plot, but it was done cleverly in how they present all of the supporting characters, and the audience is left wanting more while watching it.
Many different times fans of the Mario Brothers series of games have created low budget films centered on the world of Mario, but this is the most interesting live action interpretation that has come along. It gives a very interesting look at nearly every character found in the Mario Kart universe, and tries to present a tight-knit trailer that not only peaks anticipation for a possible full length film, but tells a story within itself that makes watching the trailer worth the time. They aren't going to win any awards for their innovative presentation, but what they will earn is quite a few laughs from other fans of the franchise.
