Marion Barber Injury Could Cost Fantasy Footballers!

Marion Barber goes down. This could be the first key injury to the fantasy football season. There has been no update on the injury to Marion Barber yet. The injury happened in the 4th quarter on a 35 yard run agains the Giants. Not only did Barber leave the game with the injury, but the Cowboys lost the game 33-31.

Marion Barber appeared to leave the game with a strained quad which is not believed to be serious. The Cowboys will perhaps talk more about the injury and his status update when Wade Phillips addresses the media this afternoon.

A long term injury to Barber could be devestating for the Cowboys who just happen to be deep at running back. The Cowboys have Felix Jones and Tashard Choice on the roster still so a fantasy football owner might be smart to pick up Jones in the event that Barber is out with this quad injury for any length of time.

Marion Barber still rushed for 124 yards in the contest. That gives the 26 year old out of Minnesota 203 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns this season. The left quad strain could be something that might be nagging a bit so I wouldn't expect him to play in week three of the NFL season.
