Mark has been in full-time performing for 26 years, and has raised a family of six children with one wife, Dodi. This alone should qualify him as an expert on love, marriage and God. But to go beyond that, if you knew his children, and the songs which he writes, you would find that Mark Cable is not just an expert, he is inspired. He has picked up an ordination along the way, and he has made a ministry of pick-up basketball.
The Cables reside in York, Pennsylvania, and Mark has a full touring schedule based from that hub.
Mark prefers to play, warm and intimate with an attentive crowd of fun seeking people, at "coffeehouse" socials. At these socials, the usual ceremonies of church, save prayer and blessing, are set aside in favor of music, coffee and dessert. To get the most from his songs you must listen to the story line, and so interruptions will destroy the experience. Mark plays a Taylor acoustic, and will vary the key with a capo or two. He can also add a back up track to bring in bass lines, and drums. But the focus will always be the story, even though you will remember the melody and the rhyme.
Cable, who tours full time performing at concert halls, churches, colleges and state and national Christian conferences, has released 19 recordings. His last CD release occurred Christmas 2006 - "The Best Stories." In order to satisfy fans who so loved his story genre, he collected the most requested from over the years, and released them on one collection. A Discography of the last few years of releases includes: Why I'm Here; Come Out With Your Hands Up; Acoustic Offering 2; Every Painting; Empty Pockets; Praise and Worship; Focus; And Acoustic Offering.
Mark will be releasing his latest CD in May, Question of Identity.
So scan the pages of your Local newspaper, and you might find an announcement that Mark will be in your town. Most performances are free. You can subscribe to Mark's email newsletter at markcable1@comcast.net
