Starting your own business is a rewarding venture whoever it's also a time and money consuming one as well. After signing all of your documents, securing retail space and getting funding you may be too drained to start generating the business you need to get your company off the ground. If your budgeting is running on low I have a few tips that are not only cost effective but great tools to get you noticed.

Start by creating your company's web presence. If you already have a website it may be helpful if you added a daily blog where potential fans can follow you. This will be powerful because it helps consumers relate to your company or brand. Never underestimate the power of the social website. Create a Facebook, MySpace and Twitter account as soon as possible by doing so you can accumulate friends who will be updated instantaneously. It will also help with generating traffic to your website which may lead to potential business.

Get a company logo if you haven't done so already. Having a logo is an essential part of your company's brand recognition. Most consumers recognize a company by a logo even if there are no words. A consumer will associate your brand with your company which brings awareness. When shopping for a logo picks a company who will give you a reasonable amount of revisions. If not you will be stuck with a logo you're not happy with.

Businesses whose target audience is in the local community may want to consider having a grand opening party. Companies like bakeries and general stores would benefit the most from this event because it will let neighbors know you're there. They will have an opportunity to browse your store and see what you're offering. You can offer up samples that will give them an idea of your work. I'm also sure your loved ones would be thrilled to dress up like clowns and do face painting and hand out balloons for you as well.

The power of flyers, flyers can be a powerful tool in gaining business however; most consumers are bombarded with miscellaneous papers throughout the day so make yours worth it. Use eye catching colors to get their attention. Use a bold font that will make them read what you're offering and don't use cliché's sure to turn people off. Never forget that you were once on the other side of the fence so don't practice what you yourself hate as a consumer. As a business owner you may think your business concept is great but you now have to convince everyone else. I would recommend vista print because they have the best deals on brochures, flyers and business cards.

Use Car door magnets, and t-shirts to create brand awareness. Where ever you go you can promote your business. If you have a cool logo and a nice catch phrase you can put them to work on a car door magnet that covers most of the door. People surrounding your business will become familiar with your logo because they see it on a daily basis. They may even remember it when they need a service like yours. You can also wear your t-shirts on trips to the grocery store, bank and outings with the kids. These are also offered at Vista print for a very low price.

Create a new meet up on meetup.com for $20 a month. It's a site that allows you to start groups where members can meet up on a regular basis. For example start a networking group for small business owners in your area. You can pick a location to have an event and invite the members to come out mix and mingle and pass out business cards. You can start a word of mouth chain.

A free promotional tool is Craigslist. There is a big audience who goes to Craigslist for multiple reasons. List your business on the services section and see how many potential new clients you may bring in. It's free to post an ad and you'll be satisfied to know that whoever responds to your ad is already interested in your service and it will be up to you to convert their interest into a sale.
