Market Your Scrapbook Business & Gain Publicity Today

Marketing is always a fun thing to do. It allows you to talk about your business and your passion. As a scrapbook business owner, your enthusiasm for scrapbooking is the driving force behind your marketing efforts.

If you don't have experience in marketing though, you might be wondering what the big deal is and why you should even concern yourself with marketing your business.

Marketing is not an option - it's a necessity.

Growing your scrapbook business will take time. Marketing can drastically decrease that time. Even though you may earn a few new customers here and there, your scrapbook business risks turning stale. Why? Because you're not spreading the word about it.

New business owners believe a pre-conceived notion that you have to have a certain amount of money to put towards advertising. This is true in some circumstances. However, as the owner of a scrapbook business online, you can take advantage of the free online advertising methods.

Start With A Blueprint

A marketing plan can give you a blueprint to follow. If you are just starting out in your business, you probably don't have a lot of money to spend on marketing efforts. So for now, use other approaches to get your business name visible in the online world: article marketing, internet marketing, free newsletter, ad swaps, etc.

If you are an established business, you really need to put your marketing efforts into high gear. You can develop your own marketing plan by deciding what type of marketing you would like to focus on. You don't have to start doing everything at once, you can incorporate different methods one at a time. Getting to know who your target market is, will lead you to create your own marketing plan.

When it comes right down to it, there's really no way around marketing your scrapbook business. Study methods of other small business owners. Find a mentor that is willing to offer sage advice and wisdom. Start marketing your business today.

Gaining Publicity By Marketing Your Business

You can increase your sales and customer base by marketing your business every day. Publicity is the vehicle that drives more customers to your scrapbook business. After all, if you don't spread the word about your great business, how will anyone know about it?

If you run an online scrapbook business, you may have an even greater need to gain publicity. Because scrapbooking is a popular hobby, there are literally thousands of scrapbooking stores, both online and offline. This means you are in competition with a lot of businesses similar to yours.

You Need To Stand Out

So what sets your scrapbook business apart from the rest?

What makes your scrapbook business unique?

What do you have to offer your customers that is different from everyone else?

Take your answer to this question and build your marketing efforts around it.

Gaining publicity isn't difficult. It can be time consuming, though, so you need to have a solid plan in place before you begin.

An easy way to gain publicity is to send out a press release. The media also loves human interest stories, this could be something like you donating your time to an organization, or providing help to someone in need. Write and send your press release to magazines and newspapers. The news media rely on press releases to obtain information and leads for their next big news story. You can also submit your press release online.

It doesn't matter what particular system you use to publicize your business. The important thing is that you make promotional efforts. The more things you do to advertise your scrapbook business, the better chances you will have at getting your name in the public eye.

Tips that obviously come from experience - nice job. Sometimes yourhub.com will place press releases in their printed publications too, at least here in Colorado. I find submitting a photo with it really helps.
