Keep an eye on your delivered goods
Each item you order in Market Street is placed in your inventory when the delivery truck drops off your order. You must place the item(s) on a store display within before the item expires from your inventory. In other words, you can't stock your inventory with items. Before placing an order, make sure you'll have enough display cases to put the items in your store, otherwise you'll be wasting money.
Catching a Shoplifter in Market Street
Occasionally, a thief shows up in your shop, just like in real life. If you don't want the crook getting away with your items, you'll need to apprehend him. Shoplifters have a red circle above their head. Simply click on the circle. If it turns yellow, you caught him. Beware: shoplifters move quickly in Market Street and it can be difficult to catch the criminal.
Hiring Employees in Market Street
To hire an employee, click on the cash register and chose "Hire Employee." You can either hire a friend (who will work for free) or hire a temp worker (requires you to pay her a wage).
What do the icons above customers' heads / on your displays mean?
The shopping cart means the customer is thinking about buying one of your widgets.
The "thumbs up" icon indicates that the customer likes your selection of items.
The red bubble indicates a shoplifter - catch this crook!
The yellow question mark indicates the customer has a question and needs assistants. Click on this person to help. If you do not click in time, your store rating decreases.
The clock icon indicates the customer is getting impatient. Typically this happens if the customer is ready to check out and no one is manning the cash register.
The dirty washbucket (kind of looks like a coffee cup) indicates that the customer is grossed out because he just walked by a dirty display.
The scrubber icon means that a display needs cleaning.
The cash register icon indicates that a customer needs to checkout and there is no one at the cash wrap. Tend to this customer quickly, or the icon changes to a clock!
The shopping bag indicates a customer just made a purchase.
How is my store rating determined?
Half of your store rating is due to your décor and the other half is from your customer satisfaction points. Each décor item placed in your store earns you points. If a customer leaves your store angry, you lose 2% of your store rating points. A happy customer gives you +1% satisfaction points. The higher your store rating, the more customers you'll get through your door. However, if your store displays aren't stocked, you won't make any sales.
