Marketing: Prospecting Using the "Direct Approach"

Nick Lang
There are many different things you can say to potential prospects to invite them to look at your business opportunity. The "direct approach" gets right to the point without ever having the prospect feel that you are using leading questions or being manipulative.

Here are some examples of effective scripts.

1- "Hi, I'm calling because I just joined a company called "abc123." I'm looking for individuals that are very motivated and serious about their financial future, and I thought of you. Would you be open to taking a look at the business plan?"

2- "Hi. I'm calling because I'm onto something new that I believe you really should take a serious look at. Do you have a few minutes right now, or have I caught you at a really awful time?"

3- "There is someone I would like to introduce you to. She is my business partner and I was wondering if you would be willing to listen to her with an open mind and tell me what you think."

As mentioned before, there are dozens of different scripts to follow that can all work. Just remember that when you invite someone to look at your business, you should only invite.

Even when a prospect has accepted your invitation, you should never do the selling or presenting yourself. Use tools, system, and your team to do that.

Remember to also keep it simple!

Good luck with your prospecting!
