Maroon 5 and Rihanna Deliver Hot New Single If I Never See Your Face Again
Addition of Rihanna to Maroon 5 Hit Brings the Heat
Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine and Rihanna took time out to talk to MTV News during filming of the video at a Los Angeles Soundstage. Rihanna said of the project, "When they called me to do this I was so honored." Levine added, "It all came together so quick... It sounds cheesy, but if the magic is there, if the chemistry is there, you don't even have to think about it." With over 2 million hits on YouTube in only 2.5 weeks, the video and single promise to be one of the summer's biggest hits.
Levine and Rihanna both look decidedly glam in the video with Rihanna at her seductive best.
For a look at the video on Youtube, click here. The video is directed by Anthony Mandler who has also directed hit videos for Snoop Dogg and the Spice Girls." Levine offered some background on the feel of the video. "It's this kind of ultra-glamorous, photography-based, late-'70s/ early-'80s situation. It's really stylish and really beautiful. It's the most choreographed thing I've ever done, because usually I just get up there and screw around. But with Rihanna, it's completely different and so cool." Rihanna's voice melds perfectly with Levines' and the song sounds as if it were written with her in mind.
Currently Rihanna is touring with Kanye West, N.E.R.D. and Lupe Fiasco. She says she's enjoying being the lady on the tour and playing to arena size crowds. Maroon 5's tour kicks off on July 25, at the Verizon Wireless Virginia Beach Amphitheater in Virginia Beach, VA. Tickets went on sale April 4.
Rihanna and Adam have incredible chemistry in the video. I imagine the rumors about their involvement will start flying fast and furious before too long. Levine has dated some of Hollywood's most eligible bachelorettes and Rihanna is currently dating R&B wunderkind, Chris Brown.
If you haven't had a chance to see the video or listen to the record, please take a minute to check it out.

Thanks for dropping by Momie. I really like it. I'm pretty sure I'm responsible for at least 500 of those 2.5 million views on Youtube. I liked the song when it was just Maroon 5 but Rihanna definitely a soulful element.
