Marquette Michigan: Superior Bike Fest

Marquette Michigan play's host once again for this year Superior Bike Fest. Be sure to mark your calendars, get registered, and be ready for this year's festival: June 25-27, 2010!

The 2010 Superior Bike Fest plans have long already been put into high-gear. The dates have been set, the many events planned, the courses are being scrutinized, and on June 25th, the Superior Bike Fest will be ready for you to participate, or be a spectator in the beautiful Marquette area, for an up-close view of the races.

Superior Bike Fest - Twilight Criterium

Friday night will be the first event, called the 'Twilight Criterium' presented by The Landmark Inn. The streets of downtown Marquette will be closed, bringing the criterium racing to Marquette just the way it should be - racing dead center downtown at twilight.

The area youngsters will have a chance to race their bikes through the streets of downtown Marquette.

Superior Bike Fest - Road Races

* 100 mile - Pro,1,2, Men
* 55 mile - Citizen's, USAC 3,4,5 Men, USAC Women, USAC Master's 45+ Men, Masters 35+ Men
* 35 mile - Citizen's, Touring class

Superior Bike Fest - Gravity Downhill Race

Course builders Doug, James, and Tim, are the usual track building suspects yet again this year, bringing a new DH track to the fest. Marquette Mountains summit plays as the starting point and winds down to the opposite side of the mountain (aka Gypsy Road).

This year the tracks are set for high speed and packed with a more technical root and rock section, mild pedaling, many flowing jumps and of course, the gravity defying berms. What makes this year track additionally special, is that it's longer.

Superior Bike Fest - Circuit Race

The beautiful Presque sets the scene for this year Superior Bike circuit race. The twist's and turns amidst the pristine woodland, and one of the many "crown jewels" of Marquette.

Superior Bike Fest - XC Mountain Chase

This year Superior Bike Fest XC Mountain Chase is the epitome of real mountain bike racing, peppered with allot of single-track. This year XC race will have the three eight mile loops on some of Marquette's best dirt. You have a choice of what race suits your best; three laps, two laps or one. Superior Bike Fest XC Mountain Chase is even offering a team effort event for those wanting to pool those culminated team efforts in the 24 mile XC race. Gather up three folks, and ride one lap each. Fastest men's, women's and mixed teams will medal.
