Marriage -- Am I Ready!!

In a Month is My LIfe Over?

BK
I am excited to announce I am getting married over the Thanksgiving Holiday this year to a great great fiance I met while working a couple years ago. We were engaged back in December of 2008 and I thought nothing of how my life would be forever changed at that moment. As the months quickly evaporated and time went on during the planning stages, I am now a month away from the big extravaganza wondering what life will be like after-wards.

My bachelor party was simple just a golf outing with some free beer and food, who could have asked for anything more, while calling and telling my fiance the strippers would be showing up on hole nineteen. HA HA!!! I don't think she was anything but thrilled to hear that one from me. I can't say I have been the best fiance to this part in the planning stages but at least to my credit I have kept the humor going and offered to help at all phases such as putting stamps on all the invitations. (And Who said the Post Office was going out of business!!)

When we got engaged little did I know my fiance would already have our entire wedding planned when she was FIVE!!! I was shocked to see how quickly and efficiently she moved through the planning phases and dragging me to the not so fun parts from pre-marriage prep meetings with the priest to the awfully expensive marriage-prep retreat that was the biggest waist of money I have spent for four hours of "hitting my head against the wall boredom." I did figure out how the Catholic church has so much money though in that four hours since each couple had to pay 150 dollars and there was 12 couples in all there. ($150.00x12=$1800.00 Wooofta)

Do not get me wrong I am excited as anyone can get knowing the person I found will make me and my life that much better than it could have possibly been during my single years. (Guys the single years are worth it to get out whatever it is you have to do, buy, and go!!) We were fortunate to take advantage of the Obama's first time home buyers credit and purchase a house that we both thoroughly enjoy during the SUMMERS the Winters are tough however the die-hard Minnesotans we are we know nothing else from November to April!!!

Now the REAL FUN begins, how to share paychecks, share the decision making process on major purchases such as cars, appliances, etc... It definitely will not be easy but I think I have found someone that luckily shares ALMOST all the view points and outlooks that I have. Her biggest pet peeve I am sure about me is I want to buy every piece of junk car I find on Craigslist.com :)!! Oh it is a addicting, but if that is our only problem we encounter throughout the first couple years I believe the rest of my life will not necessarily be "OVER" but rather just "BEGINNING"

Wish me LUCK!!!
